Mr. B’s Chocolates is up to some good this month.
Starting September 21, when you visit one of six Tavern Grill locations, you’ll have the opportunity to purchase a two-piece box of Mr. B’s Chocolates. All proceeds benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
“It’s a privilege to play a small part in supporting families who face the unthinkable,” says Julie Culshaw, Mr. B’s Executive Manager.
Tavern needs 30,000 Mr. B’s chocolates to pull it off. A quantity that large requires complicated logistics behind the scenes — logistics that began in a humble place: around the work table in Mr. B’s kitchen with pencil and paper.
“Like we often do, the chocolatiers and I huddled up with our math skills,” says Culshaw. “We’re used to it, but this is a larger scale than usual.”
Culshaw and the chocolatiers calculated that they’d need:
- 300+ lbs. of sugar
- 160+ lbs. of butter
- 15,000 boxes
- Lots and lots of Belgian chocolate
Fortunately, all the chocolates don’t need to be delivered at once. Mr. B’s will produce them in batches so that customers receive a fresh product throughout the Golden Ticket Hunt, which includes scratch-off tickets for chances to win meals for a year and discounts at Tavern and Mr. B’s.
With five locations in the Twin Cities area and one in Fargo, ND, Tavern Grill is an upscale casual dining experience featuring a fully-customizable menu.
“We definitely have our work cut out for us, but we’re glad to play a role — however small — in supporting families. No one should have to face childhood cancer alone,” says Culshaw.
